RCS Challenge #10 - Be inspired

Hello Everyone,

Wishing you all a very Happy May! A new month, new hopes, new ventures and of course a new challenge!

This month, we decided to challenge you all with something different.

We have a layout designed by our Blog Coordinator Aditi, and we want you to be inspired by that. Below is the challenge graphic with all the ways you can be inspired.

You can pick anything whether it's sketch, the theme, the colours, the shapes, elements or the photo and feel free to create any crafty project be it a card, a layout, altered piece, tag, home decor art, album and anything art/craft related and don't forget to mention what has inspired your from this beautiful layout. The last date to submit entries is 25th May'18

One winner will win a goodie bag filled with CraftTangles supplies worth Rs. 400 (shipping free) as well as the winner's badge to flaunt on the blog. Top three entries will get to flaunt a badge on their blogs.

Here's a look at what our team has created to inspire you all:)!

Blog Coordinator Aditi - Inspired by the colours and the elements of circles, I have created a Card. 

DT Priyadarshini - Inspired by the Photos of Venice, I have created a Romeo and Juliet Venetian Mask. 

DT Megha - There were so many things in this layout to be inspired! I especially was inspired by the striking purple and pink colour and the die cuts in black! I made a card

DT Saloni - Travel..the best way to be lost and found all at the same time !! I was inspired by the pictures and minimal use of pink and yellow in the layout  I have a made an art journal using pictures of my dream travel destination "Paris"

DT Spardha - I've made a window card for this month's challenge inspired by the colours from the layout and tried added a bit of a grungy look using paint splatters and modelling paste.

DT Vidhi - Inspired by the colours and journey of two souls - “Love” your “ Life” and “Live” together forever I have created these ATC's. I've added dream catchers to protect love from devils eye!

Everyday Sentiment Cards by DT Ishani

Hello Dear crafters,

 

I love making cards and sending them to my dear ones. Am sure you love it too, especially to see or hear the joy when they receive it! Today, I am here to inspire you and encourage you with my cards.

 

Friendly Birds

My first card today is something I created primarily using dies and pretty patterned paper.

Materials: 

• White cardstock

• Pattern Paper

• Birdhouse dies

• Stitched circle

• Watercolours

• Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen

• Corner Chomper

• Die - cut sentiment

• Sequins

• Glue

I cut a circle on the front panel of the card base and just behind it, I did some watercoloring to create a scene of sky and grass. Then I cut a fence, birdhouses and birds out of dies and some patterned paper. I adhered behind the cut circle, the fence and one of the birdhouse so that they are on the upper panel. The other birdhouse was adhered inside the card, protruding till the cutout circle. Some glossy accents for the birds and spectrum noir for my background watercolour. I used a die cut sentiment, chomped off the upper corner and some added sequins to finish off my card.

 

Shaker card

Materials: 

• White cardstock

• Stamp

• Embossing powder

• Versamark ink

• Heat Tool

• Zig clean color brush pen

• Pattern Paper

• Scalloped square frame die

• Acetate sheet

• Foam tape

• Double sided tape

• Sequins  

For this, I stamped out a cake with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with a gold embossing powder. Then with zig clean colour brush pens, I coloured the cake and fussy cut it. For the shaker card I cut a frame from a Scalloped square die and similar to the dimensions of the frame, I cut an acetate sheet, a pattern paper with the birthday theme and the card stock.

On the base which is the card stock I stuck the pattern paper and glued the cake over it. I took the scalloped square die cut and adhered the acetate sheet with a strong tape. I treated the acetate sheet and the pattern paper with anti-static powder and then put foam tape at the edges of the card. Before placing the acetate sheet and sealing, I put some sequins on the card.

A very happy November to you all! Another new month and another new challenge! 

 

This time we have another unique challenge for you all and we have a fun collaboration! 

We are collaborating with Paru's Card Making Challenge blog this month! So do drop by the blog to check out more.

The theme is VINTAGE and it comes with a few elements to be used on your project. One, use any form of an old book page (no script pattern paper), include one or more flowers. Let us know how you interpreted the challenge and also make sure to use the challenge banner in your post. 

 

Feel free to create any crafty project be it a card, a layout, altered piece, tag, home decor art, album and anything art/craft related. Last date to submit entries is 28th Nov'17

 

One winner will receive a 12" x 12" Papericious Paper Pack as well as the winners badge to flaunt on the blog. Top three entries will get to flaunt a badge on their blogs.
