Then stop thinking too much because today our Guest DT Kriti has came with awesome tutorial on recycling the cans in our Teaching and Learning Program and she has a card tutorial also. Craftykari Team for this opportunity. Today, I have come up with a tutorial
post for the ongoing Monthly Challenge “Revamp your Scraps”, for details HERE.
What do you do with the cans when you are done with the food item? You
probably throw them right into the recycling bin. Maybe you wait a while to
accumulate a bunch before you chuck them out, or maybe you toss them every
week. Either way, you are parting ways with a valuable craft supply. You can
use your crafty skills to turn empty cans into all sorts of cool things! Here is
my idea to get you going, you can use it to hold pens, pencils, or paint
brushes.
Tutorial for Altering the can-
Firstly apply black acrylic paint on the edges.
Take two pattern papers,
a. One whose length is equal with the height of the can and breadth approximately 4 inches.
b. Second whole length is equal with the height of the can and breadth approximately 2 inches less than the circumference of the can.
Firstly paste the first pattern paper and then paste the second pattern paper (don't apply the glue on the above two corners,bend them), in that way so that the first paper pop out from the second one. If I am making it too complex, refer the picture.
Leave it to dry and then let your imagination run wild with your craft stash. You can use any colour of lace, flowers, etc. I have used pink colored lace as it was going with my pattern papers.
Next I used my script stencil and made some scripts texture using modelling paste.
After the modelling paste dry I took bubble stamp and stamped on it to give a bit more contrast and to fill in a bit more of the open space.
The beauty of this project is that once you've created the basic tin, it can be then customized in any way you like, creating a totally unique finished item which perfectly reflects your individual character and tastes! The possibilities are endless, so, what will you add to yours??? Silk flowers, pearls or gems perhaps???
I have decorated it with some leaves, flowers, twine, MDF butterfly and in the last added a tag.

Tutorial for card-
-> Take a black cardstock of 4'' by 6'' size and score on 6'' side at 3''.
->Take a pattern paper of the 3-3/4'' by 2-3/4'' size (I have taken matching pattern paper as that of tin).
-> Distress the edges of the pattern paper with the distress tool (I have used scissors).
-> Adhere the pattern paper onto the black cardstock.
-> Next I made some script texture using modelling paste and script stencil. Next made some stamping using bubble stamp.
-> After that I collected some embellishments.
Adhered them onto the card and the card is ready.
