Welcome Indira at Rainbow Craftykari blog. Over to you now :)
Hi friends. This is Indira here from Arty Sorts blog. Few days back, Maninder got in touch with me and invited me to showcase some projects on the blog. It really does feel great when you can make use of stuff lying around in the house to create some beautiful art work.
This is the gorgeous kit that she sent me to use. Few of the things in the kit were totally new to me and had it not been for Maninder, I would have never tried these things out. I must say I really enjoyed playing with my new craft goodies.
My post here today is something related to cardboard's that i have used from packaging material to create projects. I hope you like my creations. Let me talk about them one by one. Since there are a lot of pics, I will keep the text short.
Project 1: Door Hanger
I have given a vintage look to the door hanger. For the base, I have recycled the cardboard from PaperMania Chipboard album packaging and covered it using MME - Oxford Lane Plaid Pattern paper from Rainbow Craftykari Store.
I have used lots of embellishments decorated using UTEE. The pictorial below will show you the step-by-step procedure on how I used UTEE.
1. Take a stamp of your choice and ink using Versamark ink.
1. Take a stamp of your choice and ink using Versamark ink.
1. Choose embellishments of your choice, For my project i have use Color Me Crazy Petaloo flower, Wooden tag, MDF die-cuts, Corner metal charm, Bronze Flower metal charm, Heart Shape metal charm and Metal key from the Kit. Melt UTEE, I have heated it on gas burner in a regular steel utensil.
Time for another pictorial for using flocking powder which I have used to cover the plain White Color me Crazy Petaloo flower from the kit.
1. Coat a flower with glue and cover generously with flocking powder. Press down the powder firmly and remove the excess.
2. To get a dark background, ink the flower before sticking flocking powder to it.
Project 2: Wall hanging/Desk Keepsake
Pictorial on Embellishing the Bezel:
1. Choose the Glitters and Bezel of your choice. Here I've used Chunky glitters and Glitter balls, Some blings from my stash and Square Bezel from the kit. Melt and pour the black UTEE onto the bezel with the help popsicle or spatula . Whilst still hot, add the bigger blings or embellishments onto it.
2.Add other things over it while UTEE is still hot. If its start cooling down, Use heat tool to melt it. I've used chunky glitter and some beads. Color the edges with Gold Perfect Pearl Powder.
I've used the lovely flowers and circle metal charm from the kit and lot of blings here and there. The tiny wooden clothespin is colored in blue using a normal sketch pen.
Here is my Result:
Hope you enjoyed this post and will get inspired. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. Thank you Maninder for this opportunity and inviting me over your blog.
