Shaker Layout Video Tutorial by DT Spardha

Hi guys!

It's Spardha here today with this month's tutorial video for you.

I have been into the "shaker" theme lately and so I thought, "Why not turn this into a scrapbooking layout?!"

And here I am, sharing with you, a Shaker Scrapbooking Layout.

I have used my sister's photo for this layout and I also really wanted to use these flowers she had gifted me a long long time back, which I have been saving up for a project. Dried petals work really well on such projects {my latest discovery!}

Supplies Used:
Most of the above-listed materials are available on the Rainbow Craftykari Store and can also be pre-ordered by sending an e-mail at info@rainbowcraftykari.in

Family Layout Tutorial & Video Tutorial by Blog Co-ordinator Aditi Mahajan

Hello Everyone,

A very happy September! With the beginning of a new month, we have a wonderful new challenge!

Today I'm here to share an easy to make Layout Tutorial with you all which is also an inspiration for our challenge this month.

Many craft brands come up with coordinated sets/kits. Most often we end up buying the paper pack alone and using it and then in a future date we end up buying the die cut/embellishments and use them individually. However, have you realised how worthy it would be to invest in the entire kit and use it in your projects? Sometimes we are creating an album, a layout, a card, and using all the coordinated elements leads to a great creation.

In my layout today, I will be using one such kit from Kaisercraft- The Golden Grove Collection. All the elements go so well together, that within minutes a quick layout can be created.

Let's begin...

Step1: First begin by choosing a photo and a base paper.

Step 2: Choose a contrasting pattern paper to mount the photo on. Here I have kept it a 1/4" bigger than the photo on all sides. Stick the photo on the paper. Add some depth to the entire photo mat with waste chipboard/cardboard. Distress the edges of the paper.

Step 3: This Paper Pack has one sheet with flower clusters. So I fussy cut those from the sheet. Usually, every paper pack has one such pattern from which elements can be fussy cut.

Step 4: Use a stencil and add some texture with modelling paste.

Step 5: Pick inks of the colours on your base paper. Here I used distress inks. Randomly add some colour on your paper, especially to blend in the texture. Ensure to leave some texture white as that adds extra interest. Distress the edges of the base paper.

Step 6: Add more interest with stamping. Choose one colour that dominates the background colours (in this case green) and black. Stamp randomly around the focal image using two background stamps.

Step 7: Layer and play with the fussy cut elements, the collectables (die cut elements coordinated with the sheet) and the wooden collectables. Stick some with glue and some with foam tape. Run the blade of the scissors on the edges, to give the flowers and leaves some dimension. Pick a title from the collectables.

Step 8: Complete the layout with some splatter in white and green.

Since this is a layout, and it's difficult to merely read instructions, I created a video tutorial for you all :-)! Click here

Guest DT Afrreen: Folding Album Tutorial

Hello Crafty Friends,

A very good morning to you all.

Today in our Teaching and Learning Program we have Afrreen Banu as Guest DT. She is passionate about making handmade crafty products like Kundan Jewellery, Quilling and Papercrafts. She will gonna teach us Folding Album, so sit back and enjoy the step by step tutorial from her.

Over to you Afrreen,

Hello Everyone,
This is my first GD post for Rainbow Craftykari and thank you Maninder for this opportunity. Today am going to share a pictorial tutorial of making Mini Album.

Lets begin,

Step1: For album base we need chipboard (gsm as per your wish). Need 5 piece of various size chipboard size as follows (11x6.5cm ,11x3.5cm, 11x8cm, 11x3cm, 11x5cm), then 2  different pattern sheets for covering the chipboard outer and inner part (size of pattern sheet 26 ¾ x 11¼ cm and 30 x 14cm).

For inner pages need 4 piece of black cardstock 16.5x8cm score them at (8|0.5|8) here I used Penguins in love pattern sheet from Papericious.

Step 2: Adhere the chipboards to the pattern sheets for outer cover, trim the corners now you can see the excess of pattern sheets outside the chipboards, just fold them and stick it inside the chipboard I used red tacky tape for sticking them , you can also use white glue, now stick the inner part with another sheet of pattern paper and trim it off the excess ones outside the chipboard, and I have put magnetic clips on both the sides.

Step 3: For hanging charms, I used eyelet on top of the 11x3.5 size and chained them using jump rings, hanged charms in the chain using jump rings.

Step 4: Adhere pattern sheets as per your wish for inside pages now stick inner pages one after other, note a point while sticking adhere them opposite direction( if one page folded side is at the left then stick 2nd page, & folded side should be on right)

Step 5: for inner page decorating I just created a pocket and tags and I have fussy cut penguin from the pattern sheet and adhered them to the inner page, I used just for you embossed sentiment, so as I created pockets and put some tags and die cuts for other pages, adhered ribbon in center of the page & added die cuts to it.

Step 6: Used stitched oval die cut and frame, adhered at the center of the page and I used  corner die cuts, flower and leaf to decorate it.

Step7: Now adhere the accordion type folded pages to the center base (11x8).

Step8: I used fussy cut love you from Papericious pack and adhered it, for decoration I arranged flowers, leaves (flowers and leafs are made out of dies) added glitters in leaves and flowers.

Step9: Added few dew drops for leaves and flowers using glossy accents.

For adding glitters just sprinkle glitters over the flowers and leaves, if you are satisfied with the amount of glitters sprinkled just take a pic of it, now shutter all the glitters down, for adhering  glitters for 1 part of glue 1 part of water mix them well, it will become thinner, wet your brush and dip it in the mixture ,now just carefully splatter the mixture using brush (refer the pic taken by you ).

If you feel you want light sparkles then give slight coat, and now sparkle the glitters over it and shake the excess, if u feel anywhere excess amount of glitters adhered don’t worry use napkin and spread the excess.

And your project is ready. If any doubt, feel free to ask and leave your comments here.
