Quad Easel Card by DT Priyanka

Hello Everyone

Today I am at the Blog again with an inspiration post this time.

This time I really wanted to try my hands at something new & different and something which I had never created before, thus I picked "QUAD-EASEL CARD" for my inspiration. I remember, when I saw this style of card for the very first time sometime back I got all itchy to try it but just couldn't work on it & with this inspiration post I knew I had to had to try my hands at this quad easel style.

This style gives you a lot of flexibility to experiment with themes, combinations etc. I chose to go ahead with the love theme...!

For the base, I began with taking a black cardstock in size 11"*11"{ref: Picture(a)} & than cut out 4 strips in size 5"*10" and then folded them into half (scored at 5")  {ref: Picture (b)} I further scored one side of the folded cards diagonally {ref: Picture(c)}. Then I cut out 4 squares in the size 5"*5" {ref: Picture(d)}. I then took patterned papers from Papericious & cut them accordingly to attach to the base of my easel card. For the base I cut the patterned paper into 10.5"*10.5" & the remaining 4 patterned papers in 4.8"*4.8".

I adhered the patterned papers onto the black cardstocks' of the respective sizes & then adhered the 4 cards onto the base {ref: Picture(e)} Our base is now ready to be embellished.

I embellished it flap by flap in a way that each flap coorinates with the other. (tip: it is important to think through how you are going to embellish the flaps because devaiting from the theme can kill the entire look of the card, thus it is very important that all flaps should compliment each other & be in sync)

I embellished my flaps using Spellbinders Nestabilities Fleur De Lis Square die, resins, die cuts, flowers, heat embossed sentiment from Fiskars stamp set, pearls, rhinestones. I didn't want to go overboard with my embellishments thus I kept them simple & light.

Using a double sided foam tape I adhered the small sentiments on the inside of the cards to make an easel panel (with support of these our cards will stand to make an easel structure)

Our Quad Easel Card is ready!

Hello Crafters!

Its Shylaa here to share a step by step mixed media card tutorial. Mixed media art is total fun as there is no criteria fixed and innovation is endless to work with.

The challenge this month is a Earthy mood board,I was totally flaunted by the colors. Though it is a tutorial post, i did not want to miss to try my hand with the color.

Image may contain: indoor

Here is my card.

Here is the tutorial to create this mixed media card.

Step One is to create a base layer for your card, Take the cardstock(for my 4.5"X6" - card base, my cardfront is of 4"X5.5"). Coat a layer of gesso and allow it to dry. Then scrap the edges of the card with knife.

Step Two- is to add depth and variety to your card with paint layers. I have used Camlin fabrica acrlic paints and spray inks for this.

Step three is to add text to your cards now. I have used HLS - thinking of you - script stamp and randomly stamped on the coloured panel.

Step four is to add textures to your cards. i have used Heidi swapp spray stencil and Sakura modeling paste to textures

Step five is to embellish these cards as you desire .I have added stitched oval diecut from Gina k Designs to card panel with foam tape to add dimensions.

Embellishments which i have used are Handmade rose from flower die, flourish from cherrylynn dies, leaves from altnew wild hibiscus, jute twine, pearl strings, white ribbon & feathers.

Step six is Splatter with black water colour with paint brush

Blossom Mixed Media Tag by DT Kriti Mishra

Namaste Friends!!

I am Kriti...back again with an inspiration post for the current challenge
Here is the moodboard of the challenge ( Use minimum of any 3 elements from the board)

Here's what I made

I have selected three colours from the mood board....Yellow, green and brown.
Yellow colour signifies joy, happiness, intellect and energy.
Green colour signifies growth, harmony, freshness and fertility.
Brown colour signifies stability, structure and support.
So, that's why I have selected these colours from the vibrant mood board.

For this tag I have cut three tags from the cardstock.
Yellow- 3.75" x 6.25"
Brown- 3.50" x 6"
Green- 3.25" x 5.75"

Adhered them together one onto the other, after that I mixed the yellow acrylic paint with the texture paste and tapped with the palette knife after that I mixed green acrylic paint with the texture paste and again tapped with the palette knife to give some interesting textures to the surface.
Put some embellishments like brick chipboard( coloured with brown acrylic paint), gauge, flowers and buds.

Now to add more interest to this, I have added few art stones mixed with gel medium, after drying applied some gesso and then coloured it with brown colour.

In the last I had splattered all the three colours with the help of brush and stamped the sentiment.

Here are few close- ups of the tag
