Double Slider Card Tutorial By GDT Karthikha

Hello Crafty Folks!

This is Karthikha back again with another tutorial, this time, on how to make a double slider card. Here is the finished card, before we start!

To start with, take a cardstock of size 11x5.5inches, and score at 3 1/2, 7 1/8 and 10 5/8 inches.

Take a plastic cover that is flexible and strong enough to slide inside the card. Cut a long strip out of it.

Wrap it around the longer side of the cardstock and attach the ends with tape. The plastic should neither be tight nor loose. Move it around over the cardstock to allow easy movement.

Note: The thinner the layer of tape, the better the movement would be. I realized it later after completing the card.

Take 2 more pieces of cs measuring 5 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches each

Attach your favourite patterned paper. I've used The Perfect Affair paper pack from Papericious. This forms the inside of the slider.

Paste one of the cards on to the top of the plastic sheet.

Note: Glue/tape is to be applied only on the plastic and not on the base cardstock. And apply only on the top and not the entire card. See the tacky tape position in the pic below.

It should open like this, the top being attached.

For the inner one, invert the card and attach on the bottom of the plastic sheet.

After pasting both the cards, it should look like this, with the opposite sides attached and open in a Z fashion. If you pull one open end of the card, the other one slides up and this forms the slider.

Now, take the scored cardtock, Fold along the score lines of the cardstock and cover it either with glue or with 1/4th tacky/Scor Tape. The edge should be inserted and glued without hindering the slider movement.

On the outer part of the slider, attach patterned paper of your choice.

This is how the slider works when you pull one end of the inner card.

I've punched a hole and attached a satin ribbon to help open the slider.

To embellish, I've used a couple die from Tattered Lace and created a shaker frame. The frame die is from Gina Marie Scallop Stitched Rectangles. I've used a mix of red sequins for the shaker part.

Another look of the card

To finish the card, I added a handmade flower and a sentiment 'Love'. The alphabets are die cut from Sizzix Bubble Alphas die set.
