Summer Breeze 3D Pop-up Box Album by DT Aditi Mahajan

Hello Crafters

Aditi here, Today we're at the Rainbow Craftykari Blog with some inspiration for the ongoing challenge.

If you haven't yet checked the challenge, hop on for more info- Blooms Magic

Inspired by the DCWV May Mood board, we've created a 3D Pop-up Box Album on the theme of Summer. Relax and rejuvenate in the gardens and enjoy your vacation.

The flowers have been created using a die and pattern paper. You could also use a flower punch if you have one. Using the pattern paper is simple, as you then don't have to color them and can directly shape them. The centers were filled with some liquid glitter to complete the flowers.

The box which is the album opens up to a flat single sheet and can be used both sides. I've added pockets and tags to the inside of the box.

The other elements on the top, have been stamped, die cut and colored using zig markers. I used the back of the same patterned paper for these elements.

Hope you're inspired!

Shabby Chic Card with Handmade Flowers By GDT Kriti

Namaste Everyone!!

It's Kriti here sharing a Mixed Media card with some handmade flowers. This is an inspiration for our ongoing challenge Blooms Magic. A Sneak peak

I have used Fairyland collection from Papericious. These papers are gorgeous with lots of flowers, fairies, butterflies and few sheets of die- cuts and sentiments.

I took an ivory cardstock of size 6" x 4.5 ". Then took two beautiful contrast papers from the pack, distressed the edges and layered onto the cardstock. After that fussy cut some butterflies, leaves, flower and a fairy. Also put a sentiment from the sheet matching the theme of the card.

Now the best part, I made some handmade flowers also to embellish the card. Have a look...

I have a tutorial for you all for these simple yet elegant flowers.

Tutorial for Flower

1.Cut a circle from a paper. starting at the outside edge, cut a spiral towards the centre. Slightly zig- zag the edges will create a more natural looking flower.

2. Beginning from the outside, tightly wrap the paper, rolling towards the centre.

3. Next release the coil so that it will grow.

4. When you get to the end, you will have a little round part.Put a little glue on it and press to adhere the coiled paper. Aren't these paper roses are cute.

I made these to embellish my card but they can be used for so many things! Also cut two leaves with Prima dies to make these flowers a complete look.

Here is the final card

Beauty Inside The Blooms MM Canvas by GDT Mounika K

Hello Everyone

Mounika Here, happy to share one more  inspiration post for Rainbow Craftykari.  check our blog for ongoing challenge Blooms Magic. Today my project inspired my same challenge made this canvas mixed media

To start with, I had primed the canvas with light gesso, once its dry, I had started free hand out line of girl and than later stenciled using texture paste to create texture.  I've used two different kind of stencils here

Once it dry, had randomly splashed some photo transperent inks and lindy stamp gang sprays until i was happy with the coloring

For flowers, i have used punched flowers, die cut and some hand cut flowers, damped them at the back with some water and using my embossing tool to shaped the flowers .

And finally arranged the canvas with final touch-ups added some inka gold and microbeads here and there. Lastly, added the hand written quote.

Altered Tin Can with Thank You Tag by GDT Anila Dikay

Hello Crafters!

Today at the Rainbow Craftykari blog, I am here to inspire you for the new challenge for the month of May.

The theme for this challenge is "The Blooms Magic". Checkout the details here.

As an inspiration post, I have two projects here today where I have used the flowers made by me.

(Please do bear with me as this is a very picture heavy post. But as I wanted to cover each and every side/angle of the project I could not skip adding any of these pictures...Not to mention some close-ups of my blooms.... ;-))

Let's begin with the first one!!!

Project 1 - Altered Tin Can

You can make blooms by taking a square paper and fold it into half and again into half. Now in this folded conical portion cut a heart shape. When the paper unfolds a flower is formed. Make three more such flowers with little varying sizes. Now to assemble the flowers together. Pinch and fold each and every petal of all the four flowers into half. This forms creased effect. Don't be very perfect, The imperfections give it a more natural look. After pinching all the flowers arrange them one over the other in descending form. Lastly add pearls / beads in the center to form the core.

I covered the can with a corrugated sheet I received as a packing material. Stuck a white laced burlap ribbon at the bottom and a crochet lace at the top of the can. I made 3 bright colored blooms for this project and covered the center of the blooms with tiny white pearls. Arranged and stuck the blooms on the can and added few leaf die-cuts. Lastly tied a twine around the can and attached a ready tag with a wooden clothespin.

Few more pictures

My second project is a "Thank you Tag"

I began with stenciling the card with texture paste and covered it all with white gesso. Next, I used color splash and heat set it. I made 3 blooms again for this project (same blooms). This time I covered the center of the blooms with black beads. Added leaf die-cuts and a butterfly. Adhered a heat-embossed sentiment with foam adhesive. Tied two ribbons at the top. Lastly, to cover up the empty spaces I doodled the texture with a black gel pen.

 Few more pictures

I had great fun making these blooms. I hope you too enjoyed my post.

Hoping to see you participate in the challenge and also looking forward to what flowers you all make.

Thank you for dropping by. Do leave your valuable comments below.

Love,

Anila

Valentine Box Card Tutorial By Guest DT Pavitra

Bonjour Crafters,
A very lovely Welcome and a warm Good Morning in this cold winter.

Today in our Teaching and Learning Program, we have Guest DT Pavitra with her stunning Valentine box card, so friends get ready to learn this and surprise your loved one this Valentine.

Over to you Pavitra,

Hello my dear friends!

I'm Pavitra and today I will be sharing a box card with you all. Valentine is approaching in the coming month and I choose the theme of love for my project...

So let’s get startd

For the base of the box I used white cardstock (12 by 12 inch) and scored it at 4 and 8 inch both horizontally and vertically.

Cut out the squares (4 x 4inch) from all the four sides as shown in below picture.

In order to make it more sturdy I layered red cardstock (3 ¾ by 3 ¾ inch) on the base white cardstock (4 inch by 4 inch) with the help of tacky glue.

Next I pasted the pattern paper (3 ½ by 3 ½ inch) on all the sides front and back both.

For the top of the box I score 6 ¼ by 6 ¼ white card stock at 1 inch – 4 ¼ inch – 1 inch both vertically and horizontally as shown in below picture.

After that I cut the sides and pasted the ends with glue as shown in below picture.

In the centre of the box I thought of imitating a cake so for that I made three squares of size –

3 X 3 inch

2 x 2 inch

1 x 1 inch

And stack on top of each other, and once dried properly centred it on the base of card as shown in below picture.

For the closer of the box I used a metallic lock and also placed metallic corners on all the four sides with brads. On the top of the box I added a frame, bottles and a clock.

On the back side of the box I added a metal embellishment and a sentiment.

Here’s the box after all the metal embellishments are placed.

Nothing can emotes, love better than flowers and that’s why to finish my project I created handmade flowers. I first die-cut the Papericious sigma cardstock with spellbinder die and then colored the petals with carnation red archival color from inside to outside with the help of a dauber as shown in below picture. For one medium flower I used 2 small, 2 medium and 3 large petals.

I embossed the petals from outside to inside, cupping the petals towards center as shown in below picture.

After that I inserted pollen in the center of the petal and cupped the petals in the form of a bud as shown in below picture. For the bud I used two small petals.

Next I inverted the third layer of petal on a foam pad and shaped it with clay tool as shown in below picture and pasted it on the bud with the help of tacky glue.

Added  the remaining layers of the petals in the same way to finish my flower. For the filler flowers I used archival ink cobalt and archival ink saffron, both the flowers are also embossed in the same way from outside to inside, cupping the petals towards center. For some shine and sparkle I applied distress clear rock candy glitter on the flowers

For the leaves I used distress ink peeled paint and pine needle. For the top of the cake I used papericious heart chippie cut-out and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.

Finally I layered my flowers and leaves with silicon glue and here is the finished project.

Some more close up,

Thank you so much. Hope you enjoy the tutorial.
